Behind the Designs – with MAXX242
Share
Some artists you only need to experience once to know: this is a perfect fit. That's how it was with MAXX242 from California in 2012. His work for bands like Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Blink-182, as well as for Travis Barker, had already won us over. After our first collaborative artwork session, we were so impressed that it led to several projects – from magazine branding to apparel designs.
How it began
In 2012, we wanted a design that captured the energy of club shows and festival stages. Raw, loud, precise. MAXX242 delivered exactly that: hard lines, clean hatching, strong typography. First a sketch, then digital artwork, followed by color layers that also work as screen prints. Every detail is perfect, nothing is left to chance.
The style
• Iconic skull motif with clear light and shadow play
• Striking, music-inspired lettering with pressure in the typeface
• dynamic compositions that work as a front or back print
• Colors in a few, strong tones for maximum readability
His collaboration with Pressure Clothing
Stay True – crests, roses, blades, skull. A statement between tradition and rebellion.
Pressure Skull – sharply defined contours, fine grain, red accent. A design that instantly makes an impact on shirts and hoodies.
Logo variations – from script to angular block lettering. For covers, banners and textiles.

From poster to textile
MAXX242 thinks in terms of stage sets. This translates to fabric. Large shapes maintain distance, while details reward closeness. We test sizes and placements, adapt colors to different fabric tones, and separate layers to ensure the longevity of prints. Production is on demand at partner companies in Germany. This way, only what you actually order is produced.
Why MAXX242 is a good fit for us
We share the same source: music. Its poster DNA brings energy to any surface. Our task is to make this energy wearable – with high-quality raw materials and crisp printing. The result: designs you'll wear for a long time, not ones that look dated after just one season.
